Practical Book, Got Me Started on Prosecution

This is a very practical and easy-to-read book, and has helped me in my first steps of prosecution. It provides a good conceptual framework as well as concrete legal guidance. I also found the new section to the 2nd edition on functional language very useful, as this language is becoming increasingly used and debated. If you need just one book on patent prosecution, this is the one.

Good read for an Inventor

This book is written for a wide audience. The writing is clear and the subject matter is well thought out and easy to understand. I learned many new things about how a patent should be structured and written so that its value can be maximized. For example, a patent is not a thing it is a concept that is most clearly defined by a problem solution statement. These are big ideas. The patent I am working on now is many times better because of the information I have learned in this book. Lots of good information in this book. This book has helped me greatly.

I have read almost every IP Drafting / Analysis books printed in the past 7 years and Ron Slusky's: Invention Analysis and Claim Drafting, 2nd edition is a must have for practitioners and inventors alike. It's by far one of the best written and structured books in the subject area.

His book provides clear and valuable insights in analyzing new inventions and how to drill down and flesh out core inventive concepts. He combines best practices and a seasoned perspective in describing how to structure broad and highly diverse claims that captures core inventive concepts from a variety of defensible positions.

If you came by this review because, like me, you realize how hard it is to find good material in this subject area BUY THIS BOOK, it's exactly what you are looking for.

For a point of reference, this title a favorite 'go-to' reference with prime placement in my library next to similar books from BNA, ABA-IPLaw, Landis, and AIPLA.

Mike Walsh does a great job of offering the truth to all who are will to listen. These men deserve to have their names and reputations restored, we easily believe the perceived evil of men and disbelieve the good. Reading this book reminds me to stop, think and reflect.

Judgement day must come soon!

An interesting and eye opening account of extordinary men that were heroes but labeled evil because they fought for the "wrong side." Just what nations were the right side? Let me ask you the following questions. 1. Did the Axis powers declare absolute unrestricted bombing on any of the opposing Allies with the sworn purpose to destroy as many innocent lives, men, women, children, babies and infants, as possible? No, only evil for evil does as evil is. 2. Did the German POW camps purposely starve, enslve, kill, or treat inhuman any Allied prisoners? No! But Eisenhower did and on purpose with the goal of killing as many Germans as possible by the above methods. I am very ashamed of him and my country for the war crimes that we committed then and are continuing to do. 3. Did any German policy steal land from people who had been living in their homes for centuries then expel them to die by the millions, penniless and robbed of their homes and possessions. 4. Did any German soldier commit massive and sustained rape and pillage of the people they had conquered? Who were the evil? The Allies did all of this and more. America, you are no longer a Christian nation and lost this wonderful blessing when you first brought slaves to America then slaughtered off the American Indian and then went into a killing unchristian frenzy that is going on this very hour. All I can say is there will be a day of reckoning and judgement will fall and God help the evil for their destruction will be complete and horrible in extent.

Grade 6-9-In this sequel to The Seeing Stone (Scholastic, 2001), Crossley-Holland continues the story of 14-year-old Arthur in 1200. In the first book, Merlin gave him an obsidian stone; in it, the boy scries the life of his namesake, King Arthur. Now, he has left his foster family to live with Lord Stephen as his squire in training. He's just been told that his blood-father is his foster father's vile brother, and that his mother remains a mystery. He's determined to find her, as he trains to accompany Lord Stephen when he joins the crusades. His seeing stone reveals the parallel lives of King Arthur, Queen Guinevere, the Knights of the Round Table, and other legendary characters that all mirror the mores and emotions of the protagonist's life. The book's length and the frequent shifts between both Arthurs' lives make for a challenging read despite the short 101 chapters that vividly depict 13th-century life with its chivalric codes, court etiquette of the highborn, and the hardscrabble lives of the lowborn. The action of the younger Arthur's life unfolds slowly, and it isn't until the end of the book that he finally begins his crusade by traveling to London where he learns that he's being sent to Venice, which sets the scene for the final book in the series. The character list at the beginning of the book is vital to keep track of all the characters and their relationships. Crossley-Holland's writing is lively, and King Arthur fans won't be disappointed.

Like many 13-year-olds, Arthur himself is in transition, moving from Caldicot Manor to Holt Castle, from page to squire, from boy to man. Now that he has learned his father's identity, he struggles to come to terms with that knowledge, and he resolves to discover who his mother is, as well. More mysterious still, his own identity has been jolted by the revelation of his parentage and confused by his strange affinity with Arthur-in-the-stone, who is like, yet unlike, himself. By the end of the novel, Arthur and Lord Stephen, to whom he is in service, have traveled to Champagne and sworn allegiance to Count Thibaud and his crusade to the Holy Land. Like many middle books of trilogies, this one revels in storytelling and character development without the need to introduce settings and characters, create a thundering climax, or tie up every loose strand of plot. Readers who devoured The Seeing Stone will happily fall under the spell of Arthur's first-person narrative again. Short, satisfying chapters telling of events in his life are again interspersed with vivid tales of what he sees in the stone given him by Merlin: traditional stories of King Arthur unfolding, fresh and dramatic, for him and for readers as well. I currently use Kaplan for practicing nclex style questions but I wasn't happy with the content review. I came across Regina Callion's youtube video's and found this book. I cannot tell you how much this has been helping me to review content material. There are no hours spent reading pages and pages, chapter after chapter trying to pick out the need to know information. With this book I am reviewing need to know content only, right there in black and white! It is straight to the point and extremely easy to read and comprehend. I have noticed a few drugs listed as trade name but that is an easy fix for me because I have just written in the generic name next to the trade name. I am already feeling more confident about passing Nclex. There is an order to my studying now and I had felt chaos in trying to decide what content I needed to look up.

Love this book! It is straight to the point and gives you exactly what you need to review before the big day. I read this book three weeks prior to my exam and then reviewed the info, and read the book again the night before my test. I just took the NCLEX this week and passed with 75? Plus the main topics on my test I knew because of this book. Totally worth it and good luck to everyone!

Amazing book so easy to use and read!!
101% recommended
I am a repeat test taker the first 2 times I took it I felt unprepared but still took the nclex both times got 265 questions which is the max amount one would get and knew I failed. After the second time taking it and knowing I failed I knew I needed to do something different. I found this review course but didn't have the time to buy the dvds and do that program so I just bought this book put in the time and watched some free remarr videos on YouTube and BAMM! 78 questions and NEW I PASSED!!!

Must read for David Sylvian fans

Terrific book! I gained insight into my favorite artist, David Sylvian. The book spurred me to re-examine works that I had not initially connected with. I enjoyed reading the author's views on Sylvian's spiritual progression and other life events that helped to influence Sylvian's musical journey.

A Fine Biography

As other reviewers have commented, this is a pretty comprehensive biography of a notoriously reclusive musician. It gives extensive details about his thoughts from interviews contemporary to each release as well as on reflection well after the fact. Collaborators, both one-time and long-time are given very respectful write-ups that may lead readers to other works as well, which is always a perk.

Where this book will rise or fall for some readers is that the bulk of the substance is the author's interpretation of Sylvian's songwriting throughout his solo career. I never found Young's interpretations cloying or pretentious and, in fact, they seemed a pretty well-rounded, pulling in the lyrics themselves, Sylvian's comments, and subjective views on the part of the author himself. Mr. Young is also very good about avoiding the "one true interpretation" tone and always comes across with the "this is one interpretation of many potential interpretations" vibe. Two thumbs up on that front.

As mentioned in another review, our author has avoided the "tabloid" sensationalism of digging too deeply into Sylvian's personal affairs, but at times this can almost feel like too much distance from Sylvian the man. It's not a fatal flaw, but it does feel at points like a bit more than, "We can assume something happened here, but I'm not going to guess what," would have been needed to draw a full picture of our subject. This is strictly down to personal taste and, if nothing else, I can respect the author's approach. Unfortunately, it can serve to make the text a little dry and detached at points.

One last quibble, and that's the surprising abundance of typos and use of homonyms at points in the book. They're scattered around and perhaps it's just a byproduct of transferring the print volume to the Kindle format, but it did jar a little. It never feels unprofessional as much as it probably could have used another editorial pass before "going to press."

Overall, this is a worthy read for fans of David Sylvian's work and will probably lead to a strong urge to pull your CDs (or vinyl records if you swing that way) off the shelf and give them a spin with new perspective.

Fills in all the Gaps...

Just finished reading the book and must say, that despite it containing no direct interviews with Sylvian himself, it gives a very interesting history of David's work from Brilliant Trees through to MAnafon and beyond, including (according to my research) every single side project during that same period ( and there have been many). Full of lots of interpretations of each song of each album, and extensive informaiton on all the contributors, with many musings on what was driving Sylvian at the tome of each recording. Great to read, whilst being accompanied by the music at the same time. A real pleasure for the Sylvian fan.
